Alexander is an intellectual property litigator whose practice focuses on patent, trademark, and copyright matters. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in federal district courts and in matters before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. His practice includes a wide range of technologies, with a focus on biotechnology and the life sciences.

Before joining Turner Boyd Seraphine, Alexander was an associate at a national law firm and was a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Judge Raymond Chen at the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Alexander received his J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of California, Berkeley, where he was an editor of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal. In law school, Alexander also served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Judge Lucy Koh of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California before Judge Koh was appointed to the Ninth Circuit.

Before law school, Alexander obtained a Ph.D. in Biophysics from The Scripps Research Institute, where his research primarily focused on the biophysical characterization of proteins involved in the cellular defense against cancer. Alexander also obtained a B.S. with Highest Honors in Chemistry and a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
